These are the result of a creation process based on listening to the hermitage and its natural surroundings. This listening allows to establish a dialogue between the place and the artist, offering the public a new look of the place, which is not only knowledgeable, but also participant.
The hermitages of the Pallars Sobirà, most Romanesque and situated in places of great beauty, are often the excuse for tourists to take the car and go from one place to another, consuming the landscape that surrounds them and hardly spend time listening to everything which is hidden in it, its history and its echo.
The hermitages have been for centuries spiritual spaces of prayer and recollection, which go beyond the Catholic religion. Some of them have gradually lost their functionality and even run the risk of disappearing. Some hermitages are already old and sick and perhaps it is time to approach and recognize their role as spaces charged with energy and at the same time as spaces bearing the essence of the people who have inhabited it and its extraordinary natural environment.
The project starts with a residence in the Farrera CAN in June 2014 and is supported by the European Frontiers in Retreat Program and the Alto Pirineo Natural Park.
